Practice Nurses

Practice Nurses:

Our Practice Nurses Katie, Sara and Claire are very experienced registered nurses. You may be referred to one of the Practice Nurses by the doctor or nurse practitioner, or you may book an appointment directly with them for the following:

Dressings
Travel immunisations and advice
Immunisations / Injections
Routine Pill check (but if you are having problems with your contraceptive pill, please book to see a doctor or nurse practitioner)
Cervical smears
Childhood immunisations
Ear syringing (olive oil needs to be applied for 1 to 2 weeks before syringing)
Blood pressure checks
Blood tests (if no appointment with the Health Care Assistant is available)

You may also be advised to see one of the Practice Nurses for advice about diet if you have diabetes: or advice about inhalers if you have Asthma.

Health Care Assistant

Our Health Care Assistant, Veronica, works every morning and is highly skilled in the following procedures:

Blood tests
Electrocardiography (ECG)
Urine tests
Spirometry (lung function test – by referral from the Doctor or Nurse Practitioner)
Vitamin B12 injections
Removal of stitches

You may also see Veronica assisting the Doctor with minor surgery.
